About Vanessa

Hi! I am Vanessa, creator of Phases and Tides.

I am an independent South Australian jewellery designer, poet and photographer. All of my adornments are handmade by me, in my DIY home studio. I am 100% self taught, and learning is a part of the journey for me. My love for jewellery started young, and that led to connecting with my jewels as symbols of luck and power. Gemstones have their own life force, and are our own guides and protectors. Without these talismans, my soul is naked. Jewellery feels spiritual, a part of my daily ritual. A strong form of self expression. I would describe my personal style as a reflection of my soul, a piece of history, a personal statement and an act of rebellion. I didn't always know I would have created an independent brand. But life works in wonderful ways! 

This brand started for me when I shut the door on a part of my life that was no longer for me. I spent early mornings and sometimes late nights daydreaming, typing, writing and planning. In between phone calls at my old job was spent writing about what would be now Phases and Tides. I was too passionate to be put in a box. To what many saw as rebellion, I saw as freedom.

The door I shut was the same door many wished I kept open. I chose intuition over instruction and to the disappointment of some, I listened to my instincts. What manifested from that, is what brought you to this page. I chose to live in the flow. I did not force. The synchronicity, the guidance, and the power of being in the flow is so perfect, everything else is just noise.

Everything I create is created with energy and intention. Jewellery is energy. It protects and it speaks without words. I cherish that I can share what feels like my life purpose through combining my words with my art and expressing both wisdom with style.

Since a child, I have always been fascinated by the spirit world, the natural world, (crystals especially) multidimensional beings and energy and how we have natural abilities as humans that have more than often been shunned by society. Life placed me in many tests that were indeed challenging, but the darkness was only getting me ready for the light that came afterwards. My experiences all had a role to play in my purpose. This is why life fascinates me.

My intuition has been by my sidekick throughout all my life. It's never met me down and it's all come full circle.

In 2024 I completed a pure energy healing course to further my knowledge on energy and have since practiced many times and have had some unexplainable and beautiful experiences. I will be teaching what I have learnt through my experiences on psychic protection and healing, and how you can implement these practices in your daily life to protect your energy.

 My brand is a manifestation of my mind and it's evident that you can achieve and be anything.

The mystery, the in-between and the unseen. Life's little miracles, synchronicites, the early mornings, the late nights. The moments of stillness, where you can just 'be'. You remember you are a human BEING and to be is perfect. Nature does not aplogise for that, so why should you? Trust yourself. We are such beings of alchemy. You are fucking poweful.
